The zen master and the little boy

How many times have I heard it, and from more people than I would like to admit… Judging an event even before it happens.

“It’s all bad; I am going to fail; This wont work; There is no point; We will see how it turns out in a month; There is no use trying;”

Reason after reason, as if not trying is equal to not failing…

So what if you fail? Is your failure fatal? Will there be no way to amend for a mistake? Will it really be so bad if you try and fail? Is it better not to try at all? And what if you succeed, have you asked yourself that, have you considered that perhaps things can be different, have you considered that perhaps things can be better even?

Besides learning from your mistakes, a failure might not be such a bad thing if you give it a different context…
